    stunning location
    spacious room
    rude guests
    cold dining
    unsatisfactory food

The location amidst the Redwoods was stunning, providing a serene escape just minutes from nearby towns. My room, a Superior King, was spacious and comfortable, featuring a pleasant balcony which was great for enjoying dinner. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by rude guests, particularly children running wild in shared spaces, and the dining atmosphere was uncomfortably cold with unsatisfactory food quality.

    spacious room
    beautiful redwoods
    thoughtful staff
    spider webs
    insects

The stay was fantastic, especially surrounded by the beauty of the redwoods. My room was spacious and very comfortable, and having a porch to enjoy a morning coffee was a big plus. The only downside was finding a few spider webs and some insects in the room, but that didn’t overshadow the overall charm of the place. I particularly loved the history shared by the staff, which added depth to my experience. I can’t wait to return after the renovations are complete!

    local eats
    spacious rooms
    nice diner
    rummaged luggage
    poor communication

The Historic Brookdale Lodge had some gems, like finding a quaint diner nearby where I devoured a killer burger and a scoop of local ice cream that was straight-up dreamy. Plus, the spacious rooms were a joy to chill in post-exploration, providing a cozy spot to relax after a day in the beautiful woods.

Had a bit of a hiccup when staff rummaged through luggage while we were out. They didn’t quite handle the situation well—waiting for a callback about it. Great vibes aside, definitely a red flag for future stays.

    limited coffee options

I stayed in a Superior Double Room with my family. The room was spacious and clean, with a nice bathroom featuring a lighted LED mirror. Having a fridge was super convenient. We enjoyed the peaceful vibes in the lodge. The unexpected noises from the room above added a spooky touch to our stay, but we just laughed it off. Overall, a comfy spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

    cleanliness issues

The staff here were friendly and accommodating, making for a pleasant experience overall. The location amidst redwood trees is lovely, perfect for a nature getaway. However, the rooms need significant maintenance, as mine had cleanliness issues and some outdated decor. I also faced noise disturbances from other guests that affected my comfort during the night.

    chilly room

I had such a cozy stay in a spacious Superior King Room, right in the heart of a beautiful redwood forest, and the updated bathroom made it feel extra nice. I really appreciated the live band by the fire and the option to relax on the sun terrace. The only downside was the chilly room temperature, but a little adjustment made it manageable. 😊

Definitely worth a stay if you love rustic charm!

The staff were friendly and made us feel right at home, even treating us like family. The spacious room was clean, with soft towels and a balcony overlooking those majestic redwoods, morning coffee out there was just perfect.

It wasn’t exactly cheap, but still fair considering the unique experience.

    Great vibes but noisy nights

We stayed for 3 nights in a Superior Double Room, and I gotta say, the dance floor was awesome for the live band! They had a cozy fireplace and comfy tables around. The food in the diner was a bit pricey, but totally worth it. On the downside, the noise from other guests was super annoying, especially late at night.
